The Pandemic's Master Class on Life

Celebrating a birthday yesterday got me thinking about what I've learned in the last year and how it applies to life and business.

Productive people in the office are productive at home. Unproductive people in the office are unproductive at home. It's not location-specific.

Pledging fealty to a bad boss or bad person turns you into the same. There are no exceptions.

There are opportunities everywhere if you are looking for them. You don't have to keep doing the thing you always did because it's all you know. Learn something new.

Consistency is everything -- in work, sleep, messaging, strategy, exercise, eating. You name it. It trains you and those around you. Inconsistency confuses and exhausts you and them.

Grow herbs, flowers, anything. There is something almost spiritual about putting your hands in dirt, investing time in something other than humans, and watching it develop into something beautiful.

Being fearless isn't the absence of fear. In fact, that might be utter stupidity. It's overcoming those fears to get to the good stuff that lies on the other side.
